Suzuki Ciaz, Since 2014, Suzuki has begun producing the subcompact Ciaz sedan. In certain areas in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, it will take the position of the Suzuki SX4 sedan. In September 2014, it first went on sale in India, Suzuki’s largest market. It is the larger of Suzuki’s two sedan models as of 2022; the other is the Dzire.
In various African countries since 2021, Toyota has rebadged and marketed the Ciaz as the Toyota Belta.

About Suzuki Ciaz
The Suzuki Ciaz Concept, a preview of the Ciaz, debuted at the 2014 Auto Expo India. Additionally, it was unveiled as the Suzuki Alivio in a close-to-production form at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2014. One of the largest cars in its class, the Suzuki Ciaz, which debuted in September 2014, has dimensions of 4,490 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, and 1,485 mm in height. Despite having a 2,650 mm wheelbase and consequently being classified as a C-segment car, Suzuki placed the Ciaz against B-segment sedans in the majority of markets. The 510-liter boot is said to be the biggest in its class.
Exterior
The Suzuki Ciaz’s external design language is distinctive and singular. The Suzuki ‘S’ badge is located in the center of a 4-slat chrome grille with a reasonably spacious hood as its front fascia. The trapezium-shaped side-swept taillights, a chrome trim piece extending the length of the trunk lid, and a sizable rear bumper with aprons are all located on the back end. Particularly in the local market, the Suzuki Ciaz stands out from its rivals overall in terms of exterior design.
Interior
The Suzuki Ciaz 2021 from the first generation features black and polished silver plastic trim. The front and back seats of the Suzuki Ciaz 2021 offer lots of room for legs. Air conditioning, power windows, power steering, power lock doors, a 4-speaker stereo audio system, 2 airbags, cup holders, and a tachometer are all standard features on the standard model. Overall, the Suzuki Ciaz’s cabin is far more comfortable and soundproof than those of its local competitors.

Markets
India
The Ciaz sedan, known in India as the Maruti Suzuki SX4, took the place of the SX4 sedan. The Ciaz, which debuted in the market in October 2014, belongs to the B-segment sedan market, also known as the “mid-size sedan” category in India. It is positioned above the “compact sedan” class, which is distinguished by lengths under 4 meters. In addition to aiming to increase segment sales volume, Maruti Suzuki was aiming to make the Ciaz the category’s market leader.
Up till September 2019, the Ciaz had sold over 270,000 units in India since its debut. Over 54% of the sedan’s sales are attributable to the top-tier Alpha trim, and more than 30% of Ciaz buyers choose the Nexa Blue color.
Thailand
Thailand first got to know the Ciaz in July 2015. In order to be compliant with the Eco Car law, which ensures tax incentives for fuel-efficient vehicles, it is manufactured in Rayong and has a K12B 1.2-liter engine with 91 horsepower (92 PS; 68 kW) and a CVT automatic transmission. The Ciaz, according to Suzuki, can achieve 20 km/L (5 L/100 km; 47 mpg US) and CO2 levels of less than 120 g/km. Additionally made at the Rayong factory for export was the Ciaz with the K14B 1.4-liter engine.
China
In China, the car is referred to as Qiyue (). The Suzuki Alivio debuted on the market in January 2015. Changan Suzuki, the company that manufactures and markets the Alivio, has a 1.6-liter G-INNOTEC engine that produces 122 PS (120 hp; 90 kW) and 158 Nm (16 kg; 117 lbft) and is paired with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the Alivio offers an electrified sunroof as an option.[26] The updated model debuted in October 2017 with a distinctive style that is not present in the Ciaz’s global model.
Indonesia
In November 2015, the Thailand-imported Ciaz was made available in Indonesia. It was only available in the GLX specification and had a 1.4-liter K14B petrol engine and either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
Since December 2017, Suzuki has stopped delivering Ciaz owing to poor sales, and dealers. Special orders were still used to make sales, nonetheless, up to the middle of 2018. Nationwide sales totaled just 200 or so units.
Philippines
On April 13, 2016, the Ciaz made its debut in the Philippines. The first three models, designated GL M/T, GL A/T, and GLX A/T, all featured the 1.4-liter K14B engine coupled to either a 5-speed manual transmission (GL only) or a 4-speed automatic transmission (GL and GLX).
On July 9, 2021, the new Ciaz model was unveiled. There is only one available model, the 1.4 GL with a 4-speed automatic.
Suzuki Philippines’ lone sedan model is the Dzire since the Ciaz was discontinued in March 2022.
