Honda Accord

A line of vehicles manufactured by Honda from 1976 is known as the Honda Accord (Japanese: Hepburn: Honda Akdo, /krd/), also known for some generations as the Honda Inspire (, Hepburn: Honda Insupaia) in Japan and China. Best known for being one of the most popular cars in the US since 1989 is its four-door sedan variant. Numerous vehicles, including coupes, wagons, hatchbacks, and a Honda Crosstour crossover, have been marketed under the Accord nameplate globally. For rear passengers, the Accord offers enough headroom and legroom. In crowded cities, driving is comfortable, and the boot space is sizable.

First generation (1976)

It was still being produced in 1981. Later on, a sedan version was presented. During its first generation, the Honda Accord was classified as a compact sedan/hatchback.

There were two different engine choices available, the 1.6L and the 1.8L. These engines were paired with either a 3-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission. Standard features included an AM/FM radio, cloth seats, intermittent wipers, and a tachometer.

Second generation (1982)

In 1985, production was still ongoing. The sedan and hatchback body types were still available. There were five distinct engine choices and three different transmission options. For this generation, there were automatic and manual transmissions offered. Notable features included a sunroof, leather seats (only available on higher specification levels), power windows, and power locks. A few locations also had headlamp washers.

Third generation (1986)

It persisted until 1989. This generation offered the sedan, coupe, hatchback, and shooting brake body types. Eight different powertrains were available, yet they were all extremely comparable. The transmission for these engines was either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual. The star of this generation was the shooting-break version. The name Aero Deck was used to refer to this type.

Fourth generation (1990)

With the exception of the shooting-break model, there were only three body types offered. Sedan, coupe, and station wagon were some of these. Power steering, power windows, power locks, a CD player, a center armrest, fog lights, and a security system were among the notable features.

Fifth generation (1994)

From 1993 to 1997, the fifth generation was in production. Acura, a brand that is under the Honda umbrella, debuted with the Accord luxury vehicle. Options for engines and transmission mirrored those of the third generation. The Acura models, however, had no impact on the Accord’s sales. Products from Honda have always been less expensive than those from Acura.

Sixth generation (1998)

The size of the Accord has grown from the sixth to the eleventh generation. The length and width of the car have grown as a result. Everywhere else in the globe, including Pakistan, the seventh generation had popularity. During this time, Accord became more well-known. All across the world, Accord models have received good safety ratings. The eighth generation included a lot of new features. Some of these included alloy wheels, a rearview camera, and airbags.

In Pakistan, the Honda Accord is a well-liked automobile. However, there are fewer now than they were a few years ago. Due to the entry of competing products and the fact that Accord is not produced locally, this is the case. Therefore, both purchasing and maintaining it are quite expensive. In Pakistan, the Honda Accord is now in its ninth generation.

Accord Competitors

The Toyota Camry and the Hyundai Sonata are the competition for the new Honda Accord in Pakistan’s vehicle market.

The Toyota Camry is a known opponent because it shares features with the Accord. Because it also has all-wheel drive, the Camry defeats the Accord.

The Accord, in contrast, is more comfortable than the Camry and has a bigger interior and trunk

The Hyundai Sonata is another tough competition because of its similarities to the Honda Accord in terms of characteristics. Although the Sonata has steadily gained in popularity, the Accord offers more interior room and a bigger trunk.
